Backpacking Vietnam : Hello Ho Chi Minh City!

*read previous journey here*
*read the whole journey here*

i think i was the only who didn't sleep in the flight that night. the rest of us selamat in the lala land as soon as the flight take off. penat sangat kot. i, on the other hand was hoping that the stewardess will served me with haagen daz ice cream ke kan, tapi takde maknanya.. nan ado sebab it was only one hour journey je. huhu~ cian saye kan ;p

anyway, we reached Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon) airport one hour later.
we took only one cab to the hotel, which was clearly not enough for all 6 of us as we have a lotttt of luggage, thanks to the Hanoi/Sapa/Hoi An shopping. ha ha.

it was a relief when we finally reached to our hotel! we stayed at Tulip Hotel. i think it's just a 2 or maybe 3 stars hotel, but it's definitely comfortable. we booked 3 rooms. me  as usual, share with Zila. Kak Long, Kak Ngah & Kak Chik in one room and Mozal paling best sebab dia duduk sorang2. err.. best ke? masa kat Than Binh aritu me & zila share a room jugak. ada 2 bed; 1 double bed and 1 single bed. but as a penakut, of course la saye share bed dengan zila. katil besor, apa barang tido sorang-sorang. hehe.

sampai bilik, terus collapsed. after one hour baru la bangun, mandi & solat. lepastu susah nak tidur sebab bila bukak tv, semua ada series favorite saye:  how i met your mother. chuck. cougar town. csi. so you think you can dance, etc. tapi last-last tertidur juga sebab penat :)

Vietnam : Day 9
Ho Chi Minh City ( Saigon)

Rise and Shine!

So today is our 9th day in Vietnam.
Main mission in Ho Chi Minh City is obviously SHOPPING, which is why i purposely plan Saigon to be our last stop.  hehe~

We had free breakfast at the hotel (rasanya semua hotel provide free breakfast kot).
and later, apa lagi.. let's get the party shopping started!

First stop: the Famous Ben Thanh Market~

Ben Thanh Market ni lebih kurang macam Pasar Payang kat Terengganu.
pening okay, bila masuk dalam ni.

kakak, beli beli. murah murah!
(ni tagline penjual2 kat dalam tu. haha)
penjual kat sini agak extreme la. siap tarik tangan, raba-raba, pujuks uruh beli barang kat kedai dorang. EeEeEeEe eeuuuwww~

kitorang stay tak lama.
eventhough tak lama, kau tengok je la hasil rembatan mereka:

haha~

*jangan terpedaya. ini adalah pirated books.*

we get back to our hotel to rest and solat.

pastu keluar balik for lunch.

we had our lunch here:

one of  the Halal Restaurant in Saigon.

walaupun ada makanan Malaysia,
me, Kak Chik & Mozal opted for Halal Vietnamese food.
it was delicious! ^__^

we went jalan-jalan after lunch.
sesat ke mana entah masa ni. ha ha~

oh. kat sini pun ada Sogo~!
(fyi, ai tak minat & tak pernah shopping kat Sogo KL.)

disebabkan dah sesat, last last kitorang decide pergi Ben Thanh Market semula untuk sesi 'perjuangan' yang belum selesai. hehehe.

fyi, some of the seller can speak Malay in Ben Thanh Market.
They even accept Ringgit Malaysia too! in fact, you'll get cheaper price if you pay in RM instead of VND.

Night:
we went to a night market, located in front of Ben Thanh Market area.

say a little prayer- semoga selamat berjuang di medan tawar-menawar. hahaha~

mari kakak. abang. murah murah.

kat sini boleh jumpa baju kurung, telekung, abaya, kaftan, etc.

wajib beli - t-shirt of visiting place~
ai tak minat t-shirt lambang bintang, so ai beli t-shirt sulam map vietnam. kat situ ada check point tempat2 yang kitorang dah visit :)

this is a Malay-Champa akak.
both she and her husband speaks fluent Malay.
mozal sembang2 dengan dia, tanya pasal perkampungan Melayu Champa, pastu dengan baik hatinya dorang tutup kedai dan bawa kitorang pergi makan dekat area kampung dorang.

so, this is the secret of why Vietnamese people are slim.
they are Vegetarian!hoho~

i can't remember their name.. teruk betul kan. tsk.
akak & abang ni told us about the diference lifestyle of people in Hanoi & Ho Chi Minh.
Ho Chi Minh people are more 'money-seeking' and hardworking people while people in Hanoi, much more relax - which is why i prefer living in Hanoi than HCM City ;p

dialek pun berbeza. ala..lebih kurang macam kita kat Malaysia la, kan.
orang Kedah dengan loghat Utara. Orang Negeri Sembilan dengan loghat Nogoghi. camtu la.

btw, kat sini pun ada 'Mat Rempit' jugak.  huhu~

****

To Be Continued..
